Biographical note
Professor Tim Lang
Tim Lang has been Professor of Food Policy at Thames Valley University’s Centre for Food Policy since 1994. Over the last 25 years, he was worked as an academic, a farmer, in NGOs and as a consultant to local, national and international bodies such as the World Health Organisation and the European Commission. He was Director of the London Food Commission (1984 to 1990) and Director of Parents for Safe Food (1990-1994). He is chair of Sustain, the UK’s 105 Food NGO Alliance and a member of the International Forum on Globalisation. He works on food policy and the public interest, linking public and environmental health with consumers and social justice. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health Medicine and a Vice-President of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
