As central government's external auditor, the National Audit
Office has examined a wide range of programmes and projects across
Whitehall and beyond, looking at how well government plans and
manages its service delivery.
The NAO's aim is to contribute to sustained improvement in how
public services are delivered across government, ensuring that the
most suitable methods for delivering services are used, reducing
the costs of delivery whilst maximising the benefits for customers
and other stakeholders.
