Date and venue: Tuesday 28 September 2010 Chartered Accountants’ Hall London

In an environment where central government organisations are under increasing challenge to reduce costs and enhance services, the role of NEDs is critical.

Speakers were:

Break-out sessions were held on the afternoon. Speakers were:

  • Sarah Blackburn, member of the ICAEW internal auditing committee and Chris Wobschall, Head of Assurance and Financial Reporting Policy, HM Treasury – getting the best out of internal audit now and in the future

Successful boards improve their organisation’s performance, but the range of objectives and stakeholders can mean achieving organisational improvement is more challenging in the public sector.

Speakers were:
