2. Pre-sale Considerations
a) Establishing a sales team
The first thing which needs to be done if the decision has
been taken to privatize an
enterprise is to establish a sales team. This
team is generally made up of employees of the Government department to which
the enterprise belongs, and its members are appointed by a senior figure in the
department. The person who appoints the sales team may also consider it
appropriate to recruit one or a few people who have specialist and knowledge
and/or experience in this type of project, which the permanent staff of the
department may not have.
Once the sales team has been created, all of its members
occupy themselves full-time with the privatisation until it is completed.
