Engaging the food industry: Working towards a healthier
diet
Margaret Ashwell of Ashwell Associates,
independent consultants on nutrition introduced the following
speakers and facilitated discussion during this workshop.
Mike Rayner, Director of the Health Promotion
Research Group, British Heart Foundation gave an overview of the
issues and some potential solutions.
Karen Tonks (Tesco) and Gill
Fine (Sainsbury’s) gave presentations from the retailers
on their healthy eating and nutrition policies and discussed
possible areas for future collaboration between industry and
government.
