Food advertising and promotion
Rosemary Hignett of the Food Standards Agency
introduced the speakers at this workshop and facilitated
discussion.
Charlie Powell from Sustain gave an overview of
the nature of good advertising in the UK, the evidence for its
impact on dietary habits and the range of potential
interventions.
Wendy Wrigley, General Manager, Retail Brands
from the Co-operative Group presented a case study on the
Co-operative Group’s research and self-imposed ban on advertising
high fat and high sugar foods to children.
