Workshop Three

 

Promoting active transport – walking and cycling to school

 

Fred Offen, the head of DTLR’s Cycling and Walking Strategies, introduced the speakers at this workshop and facilitated discussion.

 

Paul Osborne from Sustrans gave an overview of the issues around active transport, including a review of trends over the last 20 years with possible solutions.

 

John Brown from Holmesdale Infant School in Reigate gave a presentation on the good practice carried out at his school on walking and cycling to school.
