Promoting healthy eating in schools

 

Lisa Jackson of the Food Standards Agency introduced the speakers at this workshop and facilitated discussion.

 

Joe Harvey, Health Education Trust gave an overview of the issues and possible solutions.

 

Sara Ford from the Department for Education and Skills, gave a presentation on the Department’s approach including the introduction of nutritional guidelines for school lunches.

 

Yasmin Stammers from the Department of Health gave a presentation on evaluating free fruit pilots.

 

Professor Fergus Lowe presented a case study on promotion of fruit and vegetables in schools through the Food Dudes Project.
