The work of the Department for International Development in 2009-10 and its priorities for reform

This briefing was prepared for the Members of the International Development Committee to support the Committee's inquiry into the work of the Department for International Development in 2009-10.

Part One provides a brief introduction to the Department. It is followed by two Parts which set out key issues arising from:

• the Department's financial performance and capability; and
• the Department's reported performance in tackling poverty and its priorities for reform.
