Work in progress: The financial viability of the social housing sector

Study outline

The study will look at the role of the Department for Communities and Local Government, Tenant Services Authority and Homes and Communities Agency in relation to the financial viability of social housing providers participating in the Affordable Homes Programme.

The examination will determine whether the Homes and Communities Agency and Tenant Services Authority are effectively addressing risks to the financial viability of the social housing sector, while optimising taxpayer interests.

This study forms part of the NAO's work on financial management.
