Introduction

Thank you for your interest in career opportunities at the National Audit Office (NAO) in Newcastle.

My name is Wendy Kenway-Smith and I am the NAO’s Board Member based in Newcastle. This is a truly exciting time as we move financial audit work from London and Blackpool to Newcastle. We have moved to larger offices and are increasing our staff numbers in Newcastle to take on this extra work. We’re now one of the largest training firms in the North East.

We audit a large range of important government organisations, including the Department of Health, the Child Support Agency, the Forestry Commission and the Environment Agency. Applying IFRS and other accounting standards to the public sector environment offers a unique challenge and would enable you to develop your skills and experience further.

Our team is our biggest asset. Working with us could give you the opportunity to manage and develop staff and to contribute to the growth and development of our new team.
