Step Three: Measurement
Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), based on the
Collaborative Relationship model, with a focus on the relationships
and interactions between all involved, and identify how to measure
them.
From a shared vision of how to work together the team can set
collaborative relationship KPIs that will indicate progress towards
success. The questions to answer are:
From a shared vision of how to work together the team can set
collaborative relationship KPIs that will indicate progress towards
success.
The questions to answer are:
- If that is our vision of how we need to work together
-including suppliers, main contractors and clients – what should we
measure?
Measurement can be in any of the nine areas
of the Best Practice Collab-orative Relationships model – the trick
is to select the measures that will have the most impact.
-
How should we measure, and how
frequently?
For example using a 360° Collaborative Behaviours Questionnaire
will tell you whether other people are seeing the kinds of
behaviours individuals have committed to - much more reliable than
simply asking people whether they personally are living up to the
challenge they have set themselves.
-
How are we going to use the results to improve
relationships?
Easily interpretable data is needed by
project teams to understand where things are going particularly
well as well as recognising areas for corrective action.
Leading to a shared vision of how the project will run, again
using the Collaborative Relationship model as an organising
framework.
