Press Release - National Audit Office publishes performance
assessment on three RDAs
13 March 2007
The Regional Development Agencies Advantage West Midlands, East
Midlands Development Agency and Yorkshire Forward are all
performing strongly, according to an independent assessment
conducted by the National Audit Office.
The National Audit Office has been examining the performance of
Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) and making assessments of
performance in five areas: ambition, prioritisation, capacity,
performance management and achievement. The performance of each RDA
was scored to give an overall rating of performing strongly, well,
adequately or inadequately.
All three RDAs are in the performing strongly category. Out of a
possible 24 points, East Midland Development Agency scored 22
points; and Advantage West Midlands and Yorkshire Forward each
scored 20.
These three assessment are the final in a series of reviews of
RDAs carried out by the NAO. The NAO has previously looked at One
North East, South East England Development Agency, South West
Regional Development Agency, North of England Development Agency
and the East of England Development Agency. The London Development
Agency is audited by the Audit Commission.
