The future of adult social care and support: sticking plasters or the road to full recovery?
|Date:||Tuesday, 15 May 2018|
18 Smith Square, Westminster, London SW1P 3HZ
Recent solutions to the crisis facing adult social care have often been likened to using a sticking plaster to cover a much more serious wound. The government has promised a “green paper on care and support for older people by summer 2018”. In advance of this, the government is running a process of engagement to ensure the green paper reflects the views of all those with a stake in the system.
This Local Government Association event will bring together senior figures from across the care and support sector to reflect on how best to tackle the dual priorities of short-term security and long-term sustainability for this vital service.
Sir Amyas Morse, Comptroller & Auditor General, will speak on adult social care funding and local government funding more generally.
