The annual Pop Quiz (back in July already – time flies!) certainly lived up to its much deserved title as the NAO’s biggest social event of the year. For those eager beavers who avidly read the NAO graduate blog, you may recall my post about the TV programme themed quiz. Particularly at this time of year, which we consider the ‘peak final audit season’, you’ll find yourself spending a considerable amount of time on site with clients (final audit season is also the peak period of client interaction for many of us across the office). Our recruitment process for this year’s intake is coming to an end: only one more assessment centre to go. For those of you attending the assessment day next week, we’ve dug out a previous post from James on what to expect and how to get ready. Good luck!
For most the prospect of attending an assessment centre is a daunting one. Like my colleague Laura the thought of meeting all those new people, trying to cram my brain full of personal triumphs, facts about NAO work and the role I was applying for left me in a bit of spin. However, it is important to remember that being invited for the assessment day is itself a significant achievement. The NAO receives a lot of applications so give yourself a big pat on the back for getting this far and make the most the opportunity that the assessment centre provides you. more… Preparing for the NAO assessment centre

Soon after I first joined the office at the annual jamboree I was introduced to a ‘student rep’. My initial thought was one of intrigue as I immediately had visions of a strange hybrid between a holiday ‘rep’ and flashbacks of my student days many moons ago.
