Applications for the NAO summer internships are now open! But what can you expect from your eight weeks with us? Find out from Henry Firmin who joined us as an intern back in 2014 (and has since returned as a trainee).
Initially I wanted to be an intern to gain experience (on paper) with a firm in the accounting or finance industry. I had assumed, based on word of mouth, I would be given monotonous tasks and undemanding work that others did not want to carry out. The NAO internship didn’t quite match this rumour. more… Summer internships at the NAO: what you can expect

While we’ve welcomed our new audit trainees this week, last week we said goodbye to our summer interns who joined us for 8 weeks in July-August. Below Ajay Kotecha shares his view of the internship. Many thanks to Ajay and the other 8 interns from EmployAbility and Windsor Fellowship for their support!

To mark the end of the summer internship programme 2013, the NAO graduate blog has invited Daniel Joseph, one of the 13 participating students from EmployAbility and Windsor Fellowship, to summarise his experiences for us. Many thanks to all interns who have been a great support to the Office over the past few weeks!
Over the last eight weeks, I’ve been in the fortunate position to be an intern with the National Audit Office. I’ve been working in the transport team, with undertakings in both the General Lighthouse Fund audit and research for a value for money study on Crossrail, the new metro railway for London going from Shenfield in the East to Maidenhead in the West. more… An intern-taining summer
