A very warm welcome to our new trainees who join us today! To help you get off to a good start, we’ve dug out a blog post from our previous trainee Robert on what to expect and how to make the most of your time at the NAO. Good luck – we are glad to have you on board.
Having recently qualified and gaining promotion, I am no longer a graduate trainee and thus my time on the blog must come to an end (don’t worry, others will replace me). As I have now worked a full calendar year with the NAO it is time for my first annual appraisal. The NAO’s appraisal system builds from our progress reviews and other work, into an overall summary for the year. The appraisal will give both me and my managers a clearer idea of how I am performing compared to my peers, and also identify areas where I can improve. more… Taking stock: It’s annual appraisal time

One of the great things about the NAO is that ideas are encouraged. Employees at every level are given a forum on which to put forth ideas and have them subjected to constructive criticism from colleagues. Eventually they will be read by the Leadership Team who will then decide whether to reject the idea, accept or park it (i.e. pick up at a later date). Regardless of their decision, the Leadership Team will always provide an explanation. more… Have an idea? Well let’s share!
