Investigation into government’s contracts with Randox

This investigation will focus on events relating to the award and management of contracts to Randox during the COVID-19 pandemic. Randox is one of the companies contracted to supply laboratory testing goods and services to government.

The NAO has previously reported on government’s procurement of contracts in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and has published an interim report and progress update on the Test and Trace programme. We are also currently conducting an investigation into government’s management of COVID-19 contracts. Our previous work included some analysis of one of Randox’s COVID-19-related contracts. Given wider parliamentary and media interest, this investigation aims to support transparency and accountability by examining how government awarded and managed contracts with Randox during the pandemic.

More information about our work to report on government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic can be found here.
