Investigation into government’s management of COVID-19 contracts

The NAO has previously reported on several of the commercial deals struck by government as part of its emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We found that in some instances these deals may have left government with some goods that failed to meet the required standards such as hundreds of millions of pounds-worth of PPE that will not be used for the original intended purposes.

This piece of work will build on our previous reports by examining the way government is managing its contracts and the goods it has received to date, including the actions taken by government if the goods have not been received, are not what was expected, or are no longer required.
