South West road improvements and the Stonehenge Tunnel

In its 2015 Road Investment Strategy, the Department for Transport announced its intention to upgrade the A303/A358/A30 corridor to create an Expressway to the South West. Upgrade works include the construction of a £1.6 billion tunnel under the World Heritage Site at Stonehenge. This study will examine whether the Department for Transport and Highways England are creating the right conditions to deliver value for money through the tunnel at Stonehenge and the wider road connectivity improvements in the South West.
