Business and industry

Government comes into contact with business on a daily basis - in areas ranging from its work as a regulator and collector of taxes, and in its duties to providers of business support, and in some instances as a major shareholder.

The National Audit Office examines and scrutinises how well government bodies interact and ultimately assist with business and industry in the UK. The work of the current UK Trade & Investment and the former Department of Trade and Industry are both featured here.
