About the author

Chris leads our insight work on fraud and propriety. He has been at the NAO since 2013 and previously specialised in financial audit. He has led work on significant audits of government with substantial fraud and error elements, including the Department for Work and Pensions, and has also led several of our Home Office audits in the asylum space.

Chris has also worked as a committee specialist to the Work and Pensions Select Committee. He became ACA-qualified in 2016.
