The House of Commons’ All-Party Parliamentary Group for Cycling and Walking has launched an inquiry into the Department for Transport’s forthcoming Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy 2. To support this inquiry, we were asked by the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Cycling and Walking to contribute a note based on our expertise in auditing programmes and projects. This note draws on our experience of auditing government programmes and expertise in major project delivery. We also draw from our back catalogue of work looking at the delivery of other transport priorities and examining the relationship between central and local government.
