DBT’s budget for 2023-24 is £4.91 billion. It sought parliamentary approval for £4.46 billion expenditure in May 2023. The remaining £0.45 billion did not require parliamentary approval.

This guide has been produced to support the Business and Trade Committee in its examination of DBT’s remit, plans and budget. It summarises the key information and insights that can be gained from our examinations of the predecessor departments (BEIS and DIT) and the budget awarded to DBT in the Spring Budget 2023.
