Significant changes have been made to the assurance system for major projects but Government needs to do more as the system is not yet ‘built to last’.
The role of assurance is to provide information to those that sponsor, govern and manage a project to help them make better informed decisions which reduce the causes of project failure, promote the conditions for success and deliver improved outcomes.
The Cabinet Office’s Capability Review programme aims to assess and improve government departments’ ability to deliver their objectives.
